SEPTEMBER 18th, 2002 Dyble wins by-election BOSBEC CITY- In another unopposed election, the DLPA runs away with another victory, last Saturday, as New Columbia Governier, Matias Dyble has been elected. Thirty votes were cast, twenty-six went to Mr. Dyble, four went to the RCAA. Mr. Dyble was named Minister of Education. The last of the by-elections will begin on Saturday, and will showcase Governier of Floerta, Tristan Calvani possibly unopposed, or against Scott Noseworthy for the riding of Canusa. Sander Dieleman has been named Elections Manager, and will likely oversee the election. Race for DLPA government leadership elections heating up. WASHIAWA- Chris Donle, Mattlore Devious, and Tristan Calvani are all in the race for DLPA leaderhip, an election that the winner will become the next Prime Minister of Amerada. These three will likely be the final candidates in the election, as other possible candidates, Will Steeves, Derek McCullough, Roch St. Georges, and Matias Dyble all bowed out. All three candidates have posted their manifesto's at the Amerada board: Matt's: http://pub125.ezboard.com/famerada Chris': http://pub125.ezboard.com/famerada Tristan's: http://pub125.ezboard.com/famerada A debate has been proposed to be held on September 26th, but Matt and Tristan have made themselves sparse these last few days, which makes one wonder if any debate can be held. The elections will be held in October. RCAA to change name WASHIAWA- RCAA leader, Scott Noseworthy has proposed mass changes to his party. The one-man party, will change its name from Republican Conservative Alliance of Amerada to the Amerada Conservative Party, and will in the future, feature a new logo, and a new website. Perhaps these changes will spark new membership, as well as the dwindled opposition movement in Amerada. Donle narrowly escapes charges WASHIAWA- On a final note, last week, after numerous spams on Amerada, Chris Donle apologized, after Amerada President, Earl Washburn threatened to press charges, for treason. Unlike in April, where Donle was fined, Donle apologized without getting himself in trouble. Donle was upset at the President once again, and organized an alliance against him consisting of Kato, and a few other nations. They also seem to have attacked the KPC, although, tensions in that nation have prevented any of our reporters to find out what's going on. In conclusion, relations between Donle and Washburn have since bettered. September 2nd, 2002 Donle wins
by-election CLEVESOR-
Another by-election is in the books, and as expected, North Cerritories
Governier, Chris Donle has been elected, unopposed, as the polls closed Saturday
at 11pm. A total of just 32 votes were cast, in what was more or less a
meaningless election, which featured Chris Donle against, just parties. One of
which, the PRP, folded while the election was going on! Because of this, Mr.
Donle did win the election, with 21 votes. The PRP received 8 votes, the RCAA 2,
and the MSA 1. On Sunday, President
Washburn appointed Mr. Donle to the position of Energy Minister, which was last
held by Dan Trudel, who resigned a week ago.
Donle first to be on the ballot for PMWASHIAWA-
Chris Donle, who was just elected into the Amerada legislature, is the first to
have officially signed in to be on the ballot, for the DLPA government
leadership election, in October, in which the winner will become Prime Minister.
The President sent official invitations out Sunday. Any DLPA member may run, and
have until September 30th to sign up.
Other potential candidates include Deputy Prime Minister Mattlore
Devious, Geord and Island Governier, William Steeves, and Floerta Governier
Tristan Calvani. Dyble
likely to run unopposed next week. BOSBEC
CITY-There are still two more by-elections coming up this month, and the next
one, will start September 7th, in the riding of Bosbec City-Denohn’s.
The riding was vacated, when Vice President Jonathan Weatherhead resigned a week
ago. It appears, New Columbia
Governier, Matias Dyble will be running unopposed, much like Chris Donle just
did, and as the RCAA has declined running a candidate, and the MSA has no
members to run. Calvani named Governier of FloertaDALLTON-
Amerada newcomer, Tristan Calvani has been named Governier of Floerta in
replacement of Yuri Andropov who has unofficially left micronationalism. Floerta
has been through a lot this summer, including illegally declaring independence
earlier in August. Mr. Calvani
became a citizen a month ago, and was slated to become the head of the Amerada
Stock Exchange Alliance, a position he has yet to sign in for. Canusa
becomes Amerada’s new thirteenth colony GETRID-To finally solve the disputes between the Ministry of the interior of Amerada, and the Government of Tebec, President Washburn, under the signature of Canusa Governier, Roch St. George’s, officially declared Tebec a territory of the Republic and promoted Canusa to a colony. Since then, Tebec has received steady immigration, and now leads all any place in Amerada in population. The Amerada flag, had to be changed slightly. The arrangement of the 13 stars was changed to reflect the new border change. All federal facilities in Tebec were ceremoniously burned, and government officials, then fled to nearby Michswick before The Tebec militia could catch them. Some of Tebec had minor power failures due to the shutting down of the main hydroelectric facility in the area of Los Antréal. Government branches of the main Tebec hospital in Los Antréal were shut down, and patients were flown to Chicouver. And lastly, the APFL and APHL will be moving their Tebec franchises to the new Colony of Canusa. All of which has made Canusa Governier, Roch St. Georges very happy. August 24th Trudel resigns from the legislature, third by-election planned LOS ANTRÉAL- In a plan to eliminate the lesser active Ameradian government officials, President Washburn's plans for many members' work loads have increased. He has proposed a plan to get all members that don't have ezboard accounts to get them. This all seemed a bit too much, for the representitive from Tebec, Daniel Trudel, who states he will have little time for Amerada in the future, and has finally resigned. This resignation, will make a spot available for Willaim Steeves, who will likely run against Scott Noseworthy who has been tempted to run in this one, because it involves his home colony of Tebec. Because there are so many elections planned, the by-election to fill this vacated seat will occur from September 28th to October 5th. Tebec legislation angers ministry of the interior LOS ANTRÉAL- The Ministry of the Interior and the Government of Tebec have never been the best of friends over the past year, but it seems, a new piece of legislation proposed by Scott Noseworthy in the Tebec commons has crossed the line. The bill calls for an entirely different method of dispatching citizens to Tebec villages, and it includes the creation of 2 new villages previously proposed by the Ministry of the Interior way ahead of schedule. Mr. Noseworthy states, that the act is necessary for Tebec’s economy to work, but it hasn’t been proven. If it passes, the ministry of the Interior will refuse to recognize any new unauthorized inhabitants, and will consider any lands owned by these inhabitants as part of a new External Territory in Tebec. That will only be likely a last resort. Firstly, the ministry plans to press legal action. Mr. Noseworthy continues to upset the ministry by creating even more offensive legislation, including one that will consider Tebec as never being part of Amerada. If the bill fails, Mr. Noseworthy plans to keep submitting it until it finally passes. Amerada’s Economy Boom LOS ANTRÉAL- As one of his first ventures as Vice President, Scott Noseworthy has put the Amerada Second National Bank on the Map, getting a lot of business done. It’s only been a few days, and the bank already has over 10 accounts! He also created a separate ezboard, http://pub84.ezboard.com/bbankofamerada for the bank. Eventually, Scott hopes to have the Amerada Buck in the ICEO (Intermicronational Currency Exchange Organization) so we can trade with other micronations. The Amerada Stock Exchange Alliance will also contribute to Amerada’s new economy, as the hope to expand soon too, with prospects of a new CEO. Donle to go unopposed in by-election CLEVESOR- The newest member of the DLPA, Chris Donle, will be soon rewarded for closing down the NDP, and joining the party, as he will be running unopposed in the by-election for the newly created eleventh seat. The election will still go on, and you can still vote against him, but still, no other party has chosen a candidate to run against him. The MSA has no other members, Scott Noseworthy has stated he has little time to run, and the PRP has been too inactive to care about the election, although it has been confirmed they are still alive. The election is already under way, and will last until noon on August 31st. August 19th Weatherhead resigns to pursue journalism career in Amerada. Noseworthy sworn in as Vice President, Steeves named Governier of Geord and Island BRIDGETOWN,
BARBADOS- Now the former Vice President, Jonathan Weatherhead, making
his first contact with the Amerada government since taking his vacation
to Barbados, has resigned from all government positions he held. But,
he’s not leaving Amerada, he wants to pursue his journalism career,
which got a kick start with “Jon’s corner” the Vice Presidential
news source, that was considered by many as “risqué”. Since he was
the President Pro-tempore, Scott Noseworthy was quickly sworn in as Vice
President quickly upon hearing the news on Sunday. Meanwhile, to fill
Jon’s governierial job, as Governier of Geord and Island, former Prime
Minister, William Steeves accepted the position. This is truly a
comeback, since he left the Amerada government in January. Not only
that, he has shown some interest in running for Prime Minister again, in
October. Lastly, a by-election to fill Jon’s seat will be held from
September 7th to 14th, making it the second
by-election for that riding in as many months. NDP joins DLPAWASHIAWA,
M.C.D.- Amerada’s alternative left wing party, has finally joined the
DLPA, after splitting apart from it in April. NDP leader, Chris Donle
finally gave up on the party, which was lacking members, and any success
in elections. The DLPA opened their arms to welcome back Donle, and have
even announced to run him in an upcoming by-election. Bill 69 passes, 70 fails. WASHIAWA,
M.C.D.- While, actually unofficial, as the Deputy Prime Minister
hasn’t announced the results yet, it does appear very likely that Bill
69, which was an amendment to the Amerada Legislative act passed
unanimously, while Bill 70, titled “Political Reform Act” failed by
a tie. Bill 69 would call for a by-election, which will be held from
August 24th to August 31st, for a new riding
consisting of North Cerritories, and the village of Clevesor in
Pennschewan. Bill 70’s article on shortening the Presidential term
drastically was viewed at too drastic by many members.
The legislature will be taking a long break, and will resume
September 15th. Finance Minister reveals Amerada’s 1 Buck Bill. WASHIAWA-
The long awaited 1 Buck Bill has finally been revealed by the Ministry
of Finance yesterday. It features Prime Minister Derek McCullough. The
bill is expected to ease exchanges in Amerada, because previously
Amerada only had 5 Buck bills in circulation, making usually inexpensive
items overly priced, or creating nightmares for retailers. The 1 Buck
Bill, will certainly help out with this. The Bill will go to circulation
on September 2nd. July 31st President to go on vacation WASHIAWA (WBS)- President Earl Washburn, will be making
his annual 8 day vacation next week, starting on Friday, a long with
thousands of other Ameradians, including the Vice President who will be
getting away from it all for Civic Week. If you can remember last year,
Washburn's week of absence had many troubles, including an incidence
where the Principality of Hazra-Bizan claimed to have merged with
Amerada. The President does not want have any problems this year, so
with the absence of the Vice President, he is planning to appoint a
President Pro-Tempore, who will be the acting President next week. So
far, 2 people have desired an interest. Mattlore Devious, and Scott
Noseworthy. There is an unofficial vote on it here: http://pub37.ezboard.com/famerada90814 As of 5:15 AM today, the votes were tied at 1 a piece. Tebec to hold elections LOS ANTRÉAL (WBS)- During civic week, Tebec, under legislation for a reformatted legislature will be holding Legislative elections once again. Upon realizing the election would be held during a national holiday, the DLPT wanted to un-register, but were convinced to stay in the race against the TCP. The election will begin on Saturday. Tense debate on Bill 70 WASHIAWA (WBS)- Voting will begin this coming weekend on Bill 70 and Bill 69 in the Amerada legislature. One bill, is very controversial, and that is Bill 70. Much of Amerada's upper class want a type of reformed democracy, which would take away the sim's vote. In debate, this idea was strongly supported by many, which as put the question, how will Amerada's traditions survive in these days of simless micronational dominance? It looks like, this particular clause in the bill will remain. Another hot debate has been created over the length of the Presidential term, which has also been touched upon in debate. It appears that many citizens support this as well, which would mean the Presidential election scheduled for December will be held one month earlier. One thing, the supporters of this article forget, is while in most micronations time flies fast, in Amerada, things go a bit slower. 3 months would mean we'd have elections coming out of our ying-yangs! Steeves says "maybe" when asked if he wants to come back into Ameradian politics. WASHIAWA (WBS)- Former Prime Minister, and prominent news maker of Amerada in 2001, William Steeves may be returning to Amerada politics. He left in his position as Amerada's Deputy Prime Minister in January, claiming he did not like the political system. But, upon hearing the news of Mr. Peter Little's (one of Will's enemies) departure, Will may once again be making news in Ameradian politics. But don't get excited yet, when he was asked the big question, his lone response was "maybe". What job will, Will get is another question being asked, if he does return. Perhaps he'll create a new party, or represent the DLPA in a number of colonial legislatures. He may be Amerada's Bank Director. It's too soon to tell. The Week of July 22nd WEATHERHEAD WINS!
The Weekend of July 19th
DLPNC win landslide victory in New Columbia SAN FRANTON (WBS)- The people of New Columbia have spoken, and they’ve spoken for change! The people of New Columbia who one gave the RCANC a landslide victory back in November to begin the opposition movement, have fallen by the same method. The same party who they beat in November have come back to win 4 out of 5 seats in the New Columbia legislature. It may be summer, and because of which the voter turnout was not nearly as high as New Columbian elections in the past, but 46 people did end up voting. 35 (76.1%) votes went to the DLPNC, and 11 (23.9%) votes went to the RCANC. No details have been published yet detailing who will fill what seats, but it’s expected that Scott Noseworthy will fill the RCANC seat, while New Columbian Governier, Matias Dyble will fill the seat of New Columbia rural, or the village of Phooria. Weatherhead hanging on to the lead in By-election Constitution: Flag, and Coat of Arms defined WASHIAWA- (WBS) The Amerada constitutional committee has been going at slow pace lately, except for the President’s inclusion of Amerada’s national symbols. So far, written up is a description of Amerada’s flag, and coat of arms. Also in discussion is Amerada’s preamble, as well as a Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Speaking of which, the current ezboard for the constitution is going to be transformed into Amerada’s second ezboard, for Amerada’s colonial and cabinet forums, which have been deleted and archived at the current Amerada ezboard, after continuing complaints of too many forums.
The Week of July 15th Weatherhead named Governier of Geord and Island SEATIFAX (WBS)- Vice President Jonathan Weatherhead became the second Governier of Geord and Island Friday. Jon had to succumb to a decision Friday whether to fill up a present seat as Governier of either Virgrritory or Geord and Island, or create his own External Territory. Ongoing pressure from the President to become a Governier sparked him to accept his new position. Weatherhead fills a spot left vacant for by Marshall Korkovski, who left micronationalism about a month ago. Friedel
named Governier of Virgrritory PITTSUTIMI (WBS)- A man by the name of “Mr. Friedel” has become Virgrritory’s third Governier Saturday. Friedel became a citizen of the Republic recently because of missionary work with the Treesian Unorthodox Church, and was delighted at becoming the new Governier. Friedel fills a spot left vacant by Arenji Compotto who resigned last week. DLPA takes early lead in By-election BOSBEC CITY (WBS)- The Amerada legislative by-election for the Riding of Northeast began on Sunday. As of 4:15AM local time, the polls were as follows: -Jonathan Weatherhead (DLPA), 3 votes -Scott Noseworthy (RCAA), 2 votes -none of these candidates (MSA), 2 votes Chris Donle and the PRP have yet to receive any votes.
SAN FRANTON (WBS)- The New Columbian legislative election is well underway, as it has been running now for 2 and a half days. As of 1:15AM local time, the polls had the DLPNC in the lead with 17 votes, to the RCANC with 8 votes. If the polls were to close now, the DLPNC would get 3 seats, and the RCANC would get 2 seats in the New Columbian legislature. President
struggles to fix Ameradian financial woes. WASHIAWA (WBS)- The President has made a statement regarding the current financial crisis in Amerada. He has announced that “the current bank director never stole any money, because the money he claims to have stolen he never had access to.” The money the President is referring to is the 4.5 billion Amerada Bucks that is the Amerada budget. He states, “The budget was never kept at the bank, and therefore it wasn’t there to steal.” But, there obviously is a crises going on at the moment about what is going on. The President as since, ordered all accounts closed, and now has closed down the Amerada Central bank, and opened a new bank, “The Second Bank of Amerada.” It is not quite sure who will be the bank director, so the President has taken over. Perhaps Amerada will see an economy yet. If worse comes to worse, the President will use his own 4.5 billion dollars which he plans to get from the BNN which plans to own this very network, to use as Amerada’s budget. As for now, the Bank will have to get things straightened out fast, so that Amerada is able to enjoy an economic partnership with Interland, which are currently in talks.
The Weekend of July 12th Paris resigns from legislature, by-election to begin Sunday BOSBEC CITY (WBS)- In the wee hours of Wednesday morning, Amerada's Education Minister, Alexxx Paris, told the President that he wished to resign from the Amerada legislature, as well as resign from being Amerada's Education Minister. Deputy Prime Minister Mattlore Devious, and the Prime Minister discussed when the by-election to replace him will be, and decided that it will begin Sunday at noon. All five parties have been notified, and will be given until midnight on Friday to submit their candidates. The constituency Mr. Paris left, was the Northeast district. The candidates expected to run, will be Vice President Jonathan Weatherhead, Tebec Governier, Scott Noseworthy, North Cerritories Governier, Chris Donle, and Floerta Governier Yuri Andropov. Mr. Paris was the oldest Amerada legislative member, and was a strong advocate against the use of ezboards. He also served as Governier of Virgrritory before resigning a few months ago. Biographies of the candidates: Jonathan Weatherhead: Jonathan Weatherhead was Amerada's first President. (February-June, 2001) He had many accomplishments as President, including giving Amerada a web-presence. Unfortunately, Weatherhead had to resign in June, when he appointed Mr. Washburn to the job. Washburn handed the favour back to Jon, in August, 2001, when Jon became Vice-President. Jon has always tried to remain as active as can be, and is currently working on a new layout for the Amerada website. We hope is good work, will eventually get our great programming on to the web. Good Luck Jon! Scott Noseworthy: Scott Noseworthy, is probably the most active member of the the opposition Amerada has ever had. In October 2001, he was appointed as Governier of Tebec, which is probably the most successful colony Amerada has. Scott is very dedicated to his colony, of Tebec, which has really shown the world what not only Tebec, but what Amerada has to offer. Good Luck Scott! Chris Donle: Chris Donle, is the creator, and founder of Amerada's alternate left-centre party, the New Democratic Party. Chris came to Amerada earlier in the year, and was named Governier of North Cerritories. He was first a member of the DLPA, but unhappy with its policies, he created his own party, the NDP. Today, Chris has done many great things with his own micronation, the UBR, and we hope to see some of his great work in Amerada. Good Luck Chris! Yuri Andropov: Yuri Andropov, is certainly a very influential man when it comes to the world of micronations. He came to Amerada a few months ago, and joined the PRP. He was first appointed to the position of Chief of Security, which had to be taken away from him, for security reasons. Yuri has been making headlines lately, as he has recently taken control of Amerada's money, and has become Floerta's new Governier. Good Luck Yuri! None of these candidates: For the first time in Amerada's elections history, there will be a "none of these candidates" option on the ballot. This option is for the citizens of the constituency to vote for the MSA if they wish, even though they did not select a candidate. Good luck MSA! Andropov becomes Floertan Governier and Bank director after Compotto's resignation, creates embezzlement controversy PITTSUTIMI (WBS)- Amerada's Central Bank Director, and Governier of Virgrritory, Arenji Compotto has resigned, from both positions, Tuesday. This left yet another governiership vacant, as well as the important job of Bank director. Luckily on the same day, Mr. Yuri Andropov, the famous micronationalist, that he is, saved the day, by becoming Governier of oil rich, Floerta (a colony once ruled by Glen Bohach) as well, as becoming bank director. Unfortunately, Yuri went from saving the day, to ruining the next, as he announced that he had legally embezzled all of the Bank's money. The President told us, that this was just a rumour, and Yuri had not embezzled the money, because a) he did not have access to it, and b) he (Washburn) had frozen all the accounts before Yuri had access to the money. So, Yuri's claims to being the richest man in Micro-Monde are false, and his money should be considered phony. As for Floerta, Yuri has been quick to establish a communist regime, which has come along with his revival of the PRP. (story can be read in our politics section)
Amerada Constitutional Committee begins WASHIAWA (MFP)- After a few legal arguments between the Government of Tebec, a colony within Amerada, and the federal government has decided to create a constitution for the nation at last. Tebec has legislated that its laws take precedence over federal laws in issues affecting Tebec, and this caused President Washburn to become enraged. As there is no law stating that Amerada's federal laws take precedence, a constitutional committee has been created to make a constitution which would include this law in it. Talks are currently underway concerning the constitution and they have so far reflected on the boundaries of Amerada, as well as work on the Preamble, and ratification procedures.
Elections called in New Columbia SAN FRANTON (WBS)- Action has finally been made in New Columbia regarding the transition from the Little administration to the new Dyble one. An act calling for elections beginning Friday at 4pm passed unanimously among remaining members of the New Columbian legislature. The election will be to fill all 5 seats of the New Columbian legislature. Two parties, the DLPNC, and the RCANC which have been un-banned from elections by current Governier, Matias Dyble will be running against eachother. You can vote at: http://www.new-columbia-votes.8m.com/ starting at 4pm local time. Uncle Damn to face court ruling Friday WASHIAWA (WBS)- Uncle Damn, who had been charged for the possession of a fire arm has until Friday to plead guilty or not-guilty in the District Court of MCD. Because it is unlikely Damn will do this, Justice Scott Noseworthy who is preceding over the case will make his official ruling shortly.
The Week of July 8th
New Columbian's speak out! San Franton (WBS)- New
Columbians from all across their colony have gathered together Monday to
protest against their former Governier's sudden resignation, and the
fact that the Federal government has not steeped in to help out, until
now, except for appointing a new Governier. Many New Columbians are
upset, at the fact that the new governier is DLPA, but the President
insists, that the new governier, Mattias Dyble, was the only one even
close enough to be qualified. The President has proposed an enquiry that
will be held at http://pub37.ezboard.com/famerada908 President Announces Constitutional Committee Washiawa (The Nut)-The
President has formed a constitutional committee to formally create a
constitution to legally tie the colonies to the federal government. This
is a response to Tebec becoming a lot more independent and arguing that
Colonial laws are more important than federal laws. Anyone can join
the committee, there is a sign up thread located here: http://pub37.ezboard.com/famerada908 Uncle Damn to face charges of possession of a fire arm Washiawa (WBS)- Uncle Damn, the famous Baracãoan is now facing charges of possession of a fire arm, because of an incident on Saturday. The incident involved Mr. Damn breaking into the Amerada Central Bank, and attempting to steal money. He also shot some one who he thought was the President. That man is doing well in hospital. Uncle Damn will be taken to trial as soon as he pleads guilty or not guilty. |
